Much to our mutual chagrin, the truck is doing it's best to die on us. My job is only 2.3 miles away.......so I could WALK it if I had to. But Benjamin's is nearly an hour's
commute by freeway. It's not like I could lend him Frances...*sigh*

I had a nightmare last night:

I was lost and trying to get home...I was riding a moped like the one our new waitress Heather has (and I had in '88 in Germany) with peddles. Nearly a bicycle. I got so lost that I thought it would be best to PICK THE BIKE UP and carry it through what in the dream was the LBJ Library...(dream scapes are so odd) As I was carrying it down a very wide but winding and crowded stairway--I found myself at the bottom of the stairs... EMPTY HANDED! It was gone!!! Stolen. Out of my hands, somehow.

I reported the theft to the UT Police, and sat in a small office trying to explain to them what it looked like--but at this point I couldn't remember...was it yellow? They did not seem to believe I had even had a bike, and thought it very very strange that I had been carrying it on the stairs through the LBJ Library, I admitted I thought that was strange as well.

(My own Mind-Authority mocking the very dream I was existing in....Zer Frustrating.)

I found a bike that looked like mine, or could look like mine...and tried my key.
Somehow I knew it WAS NOT mine, but I was panicked and took it anyway when it started up. It was cold outside, and the bike was sputtering to run...I was still lost in a dream-scape West-Central Austin/Otterberg W. Germany. Up and down hills, my teeth chattering and my heart pounding--because this was NOT my bike.
I woke, before I ever found Home.

Benjamin has been up to his elbows in grease all day, replacing the radiator,
and is still out there. I must say--there is something really attractive about a man
working on a machine... My Father was never very handy in that way. Sure he was the
USAF CH-53 Rescue Coordination Center Commander of the South Pacific...
But he could not replace a radiator. ^_^

I made a run for lunch goodies, and picked up my ration of Claritin for the next
week and a half--have been puttering around the house getting little things done.

Ya just gotta love a THURSDAY.

EDIT: We are Off to Celebrate!
Hurrray Benjamin!!! *bounce bounce bounce*

Evidently, its best* was NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

I'd wish you luck with the truck, but it seems motor trouble prompts you to post more.

* effort to die on you, that is.
