Ah Rain.....So welcome, yet so wet.

October 25th, 2006 (02:37 pm)

So many things I want to get done today--and I just cannot bring myself to crawl out of my flannel leopard print PJ bottoms, beater and brushed black cotton cardigan... to
put on boots and rain gear.

Frances needs a BUBBLE!
Or like...some kind of cool FORCE FIELD!

yeah...

Still, with the windows and doors open, and not a sound but the pouring rain outside,
it is hard to be too frustrated by it all. Maggie is bummed because she is bored, but
she is in trouble anyway...Found out why we seem to be going through so much more
Kaddidy food than normal.

I had mentioned it several times to Benjamin, and he just shrugged and said I must
have found a kind he really liked...This made me unduly proud for some reason.

But nopers--the dog has been eating it too.
Caught her in the act today--and she was MORTIFIED!

*sigh*

This must sound horribly mundane to those of you with pets, but I am still adjusting
to this new Culture... I told her she was bad, with a firm voice, and moved the
food. She sulked with her tail between her legs. Morbidly ashamed.

I felt bad.

This is why I will never have children. Well one of a MILLION reasons...
I would just give them what ever they wanted all the time, and then be shocked by their
misbehavior. I'm not even good at disciplining a DOG!

When I am the only one home, she listens to me--but the moment Benjamin gets home
my word is toast. We have an OBVIOUS chain of command in this house! *laughing*
Dogs are funny.

Good Grief, it is raining even HARDER!
I will never get out of the house today...

*Blows on her hot coffee*

What a shame.

Beetles

Hmmm... Scooter with a bubble. Something like this maybe:

As for the dog... That's what dogs do. AND they have the memory of a gnat so they may feel shame for a second, but then it's gone and they love you again.

chain of command.
Everybody DANCE!

Yep. Dogs are like that. It's been interesting getting used to living with a dog versus living with cats. Blixa is now used to me enough that I can take him out and walk him, feed him, etc, and he won't misbehave too much - but Nick comes to the door and Blixa will knock me over in his haste to get to Nick.

OMG IT's NICK!!!K!K!K!K!K!K

But, this weekend it's just me and the dog for over 24 hours and I find that those times are good times for us getting used to each other - and it helped when I wasn't working and was home with him during the day.

Maggie

I have so much to learn.

Re: chain of command.

Me too, still. Nick pokes his fingers in Blixa's eyes and wipes out the eye goobers every day, holds him by the nose and inspects his nose, examines his paws for problems.

Blixa would never let *me* do any of that, and I wouldn't even know what I was looking for.

I just feed em, mostly.

:) That's how it starts! It's a slippery slope.

emo

I get mad when my dad feeds our dog stuff off the table, and then he yells at her when she whines. Well, HELLO!!! If you didn't feed the dog table scraps, she wouldn't whine in the first place (where is this coming from?).

Humans.

I'm glad you scolded Maggie in the act. That's the only way she's going to learn. She won't understand if you yell at her five light years later.

Nice job, G.

It's all psychology.

*hee*

Yeah...I even swore I was never ever going
to feed her anything but dog food...
but um.

yeah.

AND I HATE IT WHEN SHE SITS THERE AND STARES AT ME
WHILE I EAT!!!!

HAHAHAHA!

So does my dad...

There were times when we had to remove my dog from the kitchen.

and i'll bet she'll keep right on eating it, too. dogs always look like they're gonna die when they're caught, and go right on doing it anyways.
