COOKIES!!!

October 20th, 2006 (08:18 am)

I got up with the Boy this morning, and wildly enough
felt rested enough to STAY up...at 6AM???

Okay--I was just excited about my cookies.
Pulled the dough out of the fridge (it was all dark and yummy having sat overnight)
and started rolling little marble sized balls and dropping them into my ginger-sugar.

Maggie watched--amazed--peering into the oven each time I opened it to pull out
or put in another pan. Sat obediently at my feet, gazing up at me as I rolled and rolled
and rolled out the 83 tiny cookies....pan after pan...

I rewarded her patience with one of the disfigured ones from last night.
Dogs don't know when cookies are ugly! ^_^

I had to laugh last night when the dog AND the Boy were standing there expectantly
as I turned a fresh batch out onto the cooling rack.

I made the Boy a mug of hot cocoa and peppermint schnapps and gave him a small
plate of Ginger's Snaps and shoooed them both out of the kitchen.

He's beginning to think maybe this whole "Holidays" thing might not be so bad after all.
(I'll get the Grinch yet! No one can be in a house with me this time of year and not get
a little excited...)

So YAY! I can come home this evening and start packing boxes and goodie bags!!!

It's nice to have something to look forward to, I've been looking in the wrong places
of late. I forgot what made me happy. I remember now.

I can totally relate to the notion of looking in the wrong places for happiness. What a treat for yourself to find you've managed to return to that.
Your kitchen is deliciously kitch. Looove the ice blue countertops.

I can smell the cookies from here...YUM.

I don't know how anybody could live with you and not gain 50 pounds!

Great Pumpkin

Just had a great idea--I could do it the Sunday AFTER Halloween,
And we could all watch the SIMPSON's Halloween Special!!!

I wouldn't have to compete with ANY other Halloween Parties.

*tents fingers*
