I took The Zootman to Opals for Lunch yesterday...

June 27th, 2006 (07:14 am)

He had the El Diablo wrap and a pint of Murphy's Stout.
I had the Divine Quesadilla and a pint of Lone Star.
And another pint of Lone Star.

And then we raced off in the Batmobile (what I call his Blaaaaaack Dodge Magnum
stationwagon) to see Nacho Libre.

It was dreadful.
I punched and shook him throughout the film, demanding he buy me a beer "for this!"
But we were at Westgate Cinema, so that was not an option.

We sat through the credits, and HOWLED when it was revealed that Danny Elfman
had done the soundtrack.

Later he bought me a bottle of Monopolowa, and we called it even.

We joined Benjamin at the Jackalope and then headed to LOVEJOYS.
Zoot spent much of his time there outside smoking and talking with Spot.
I wrangled the boys together finally, and made them entertain me with stories
at one of the small tables inside.

It was nice to see two of my favourite men sitting and laughing together.

Mostly at my expense.
Of course.

I hugged and smooched my Zoot goodbye, and climbed on the back of Ben's Harley...
What a FINE FINE FINE Monday it was.

I liked Nacho Libre. If you go in looking for things to dislike *ahem* you'll certainly fine things to dislike about it. But it's just a harmless movie that doesn't aim to be hilarious... Merely amusing. Which it is.

I have the same problems with it I have with Napolean Dynamite, but they're both charming in their weird little ways.

Curious George

I enjoyed Nacho Libre, but I enjoyed it because of the COMPANY I was in...
I laughed through the whole thing, groaned and laughed and groaned and laughed.

Napolean Dynaminte I liked straight up.
I could have seen it alone and enjoyed it...
Could not tell you WHY
to save my life.

*happy sigh*
Who's to call it?

You should see the bemused looks of affection we get...
when the Harley and the Scooter are riding side by side.

We are so cute you could just throw up.

(and we make kissy faces at the stop lights)

Not to worry...I've seen Superman Returns twice now and I can assure you that it is a VERY Ginger movie. You will cry at the opening credits.
