I keep seeing people disappear from my list...

June 10th, 2006 (12:17 am)

That have been there for years.

I wonder what I am doing wrong, but that is not the question.
They are doing something differently?

I accept that, and must swallow it all with a glass of water and not take it personally.

3 in the last week.
All of whom I have met, and known personally.
But do not see in my daily life.

I'm itching to trim my list as well...
What a strange culture this is.

it's funny...
jesus loves me

I never understood how people manage their friends list. Maybe because I don't have hundreds of people on mine, I don't get the culture of managing a large friends list.

Your journal is supposed to be for you and who cares what other people think, right? But the truth of the matter is we DO care. You took me off your list long ago but I didn't take it personally, because we never meet or talk and I
never even respond on your journal, but I really love reading your entries, so I have kept you on mine.

I guess my point is if someone de-friends you there are a million reasons why, but probably none of them have to do with you as a person (because you are wonderful), so think of it as an opportunity to be even as open and honest as you want to be because afterall, people DO have a choice to stay on or not and if they want to leave, that's fine because its YOUR journal, not theirs.

Wow, that was long and rambly. HI. Congrats on the house.

Cowgirl G

I never had zillions on my list, before.
That it's up over 80 is always a bit alarming.

I think I cut you years ago, simply because I was gleaning down
and you never said anything, never really even posted.

HI!

*laughs*

I have to add you back now of course...Anyone who comes out of the distant blue
and has so much to say? Where are you living now? We met once didn't we???
I know you through Mark (pokee, didn't we meet at an LJ party at least ONCE?

So don't HAVE the house yet--still a dream. Hope we get it.
The best part is sleeping behind me on my futon snoring, though, so I'm not too worried.
*grins*

How the hell have you been???

wild

much has been written about LJ's calling it a "friends" list instead of a "subscription" list or something similar. but for me it is a "friends" list, and every time someone axes me i get downhearted and wonder why.

list

The selective Amish in me still likes the old fashioned pencil and paper address books. I suspect you still keep that back of the book list as well.

I am still around and still read, but commenting on most things seems so foreign to me most of the time.

Friends actively alienating themselves is always frustrating to me. There are people who I swear must have gotten sick of me or something. It's hard no to take it personally, but maybe they just have crap they need to sort out. Or maybe they're just too busy. As much effort as I put into trying to keep in touch with people and let them know what I'm up to and ask them what's up, I just have been finding that some people set it down low on their list of things to do.

It's another reminder that my [our] real world doesn't necessarily Venn with theirs. It sucks

heya f-type, i have an idea for you, about allergies:

it was suggested to me that one should try consuming local honey (3 teaspoons daily) to alleviate allergy symptoms, the theory being that bees pick up most of the local allergens that cause one problems. im trying it here in oregon (where there are a LOT of allergens); maybe you could try it there?

*SHAKES HER HEAD LAUGHING*
Achieved

I am familiar with this idea.

*smirk*

My Mother fed my brother and I several tablespoons of local honey
and apple vinegar every day of our lives growing up...
She read it in some hippy-book in the 70's.

^_^

It's a family joke now--I'm surprised Craig and I will even EAT honey anymore!!!

But yes, I always keep local honey around for that reason.
Thanks for the suggestion--you ROCK!

*hugs*
