Thursday--And I'm Closing tonight!

April 27th, 2006 (04:55 pm)

The Ducati Boys will all be there--cannot wait to see everybody...
I should bring my camera and take pictures.

Yay, I get to see barry_barry in his natural habitat!
But I don't go in until 6 PM--so I doubt I will get to wait on the Boys.

What the hey, I'll go in now, and hang out a little. It's only going to be
a 9 hour shift as it is...hehe.
Cannot wait to see the pedometer, come 3 AM.

Damn, it's good to be the Ginger!

Oh that we'd shown up earlier. I guess the old habits die hardest. I really REALLY needed to go be with my core friends at Lovejoy's for a bit, and found that Marcello, Mikey, John, and Blair, were hangin' and talkin', so I was compelled to hang out for a bit. Plus, the Hive housebrew was incredible tonight. I mean, possibly best ever. They've always had it on pull, so it's not carbonated, but the carbonation out of a normal tap makes that stuff incredible. It's, it's, beyond my ability to describe. It's the perfect beer.

But, if we'd shown up earlier, maybe we wouldn't have gotten the waitstaff we had. When you have 5 tables of people, 3 of which give up, leave just enough to cover their bill, and bail, that's bad. I was more patient, and that was rewarded with an iffy iffy sort of 20 minute wait from the time I said "check please"(as did my whole table) to the arrival of my tab. It wasn't that busy was it? Were we just being asses? Are we asking too much of our known waitress? I know you'd have gotten us squared away, but I don't want to interfere in the office politics of it. To her credit, I know that Laura forgot to inform our first waiter of the separate tabs thingy, and then she informed our guy, and then all of a sudden, we have the new waitress. *shrug*

Whatever, we had a good time, and will be back next week. Or at least, I will. I hear that Jeff is trying to hijack my Thursday night stuff with a big showing at Sugardaddies on Thursday, which pisses me off a bit. Nobody will go out there every week for a deal, but to have him hijack me on a Thursday night is really pissy. Esp. when EVERYONE knows that it's happening except me, which means he specifically didn't tell me, because he KNOWS I'm trying to get Opal's Bike Night off the ground. Pompous self-serving asshat.

I'm sorry about the service...that poor dear really doesn't belong in this business.
She is miserable, talks about being miserable--and generally makes here tables feel about
that way as well.

Next time if I am there, I will have you transfered to me--the kids don't want to hassle with
the separate tabs and what not, but honestly it isn't a big deal at ALL. I mean, we HAVE the
technology to separate a CHECK very simply.

Anyhoo--It was nice to see you with all your biker buddies!
I wish I had remembered to take pictures, that line of helmets alone
with all that armoured leather would have been a GREAT shot!

Love you!!!

The service ended up being okay, but I do think everyone would have had at least one or two more drinks, and tipped out much better, with a different waitress. She's just such a downer, and tough to find.

Did she end up getting stiffed by anyone? or shorted any drinks? I don't want us to become that group. I tipped her out at about 12.5%, but we had too many people there for me to keep up with over the night, and a lot of people I didn't know.

It seems like we're getting about 20 people or so over the night, so that's a pretty decent crowd. Carl and Kay are back, so that's two "always" regulars more.

Laura said they were setting us up like cocktail service, with the credit cards and whatnot. Does that make it easier or harder? I'm just curious.

The lineup of leather and helmets was a good shot. And one you probably won't get again all summer, since most people will be wearing mesh jackets for the rest of the summer. I think we would have had a few more people even if the weather wasn't so intimidating.

She didn't make any noise...
but jesus.
I'm sorry.

I really don't know what Laura means by "cocktail service" save it make it easier
for those getting the cocktails. Same system.

IT IS NOT HARD to separate checks.

Better next time, I'm on at 5 PM...and I will be THE WAITRESS.
I'll wrestle for it.
