I'm really glad...

October 20th, 2005 (08:26 am)

Sesame Street comes on right after
BBC World News.

The letter of the Day is Y.
Nora Jones and Elmo are singing about how she doesn't know why
Y didn't come.

Y shows up...
He apologises for being late.

The Spanish word for Today is Feliz....
Oscar admits to Slimy that he is actually Feliz that Slimy is Feliz,
while playing in the mud,
but begs Slimy not to tell anyone else.
A Grouch has his pride.

Burt cannot sleep because Ernie is away, he tries to count sheep...
but sheep show up and sing him a song about where his blanket came from.
Burt is Burt-Like in his initial response, but eventually sings along.
He's concerned about them going back to their ranch so late at night,
and offers them Ernie's bed to sleep in.

They jump in with Burt instead.

Grover went to school in Africa, he and my favourite new Sesame Street Muppet
the Elephant...
Learn to jump.

The the number of the Day is 5.

Elmo is thinking about BUGS today, so is Dorothy.
Lady Bugs are nice.

Pakistan is in ruins.
Even initially, Over 22,288 people reported killed, 50,575 injured.

Thailand has reported it's 16th human death, from bird flu.
It's spreading and mutating.

Wilma is breaking Historical records.

Hugo Chavez is a bit bent by the alleged US plans to invade Venezuela.
US is denying this charge.
Pat Robertson's call for Chavez' assassination, responded to with the comment
from Mr Chavez that: this would be "cheaper than invading Venezuela."
I don't know enough to have an opinion...
But this does not feel very Feliz.

Homeless, starving, dying, angry people everywhere.
From New Orleans to Turkey.

Nature, Government, and Religion...
Attacking from all sides.

I was relieved suddenly, to see the SAME footage of the MOON...again.
How maybe we could make oxygen there one day.
From rocks?

I think we will need it.

And the Letter Y.
And the number 5.

And Bugs...
And Feliz.

Come and play
Everything's A-okay
Friendly neighbors there
That's where we meet...

Here: I know there's one here you want.

I'm finally tired.
So tired.

Avian flu.

A mutation in to our species.

Vaccine for animal to human avian flu is being touted as the panacea,it's
a red herring.

Understandably so.

My friends and I see the writing on the wall.
And it DOES NOT favour the people who inhabit this world.
It looks as if Stephen King could have written it.

If this flu mutates into the human population the mortality rate will be insane(and the transference so easy) particularly among children.

Governments will cease to govern.

Law and order will vanish.

Isolation will be the only means of survival.

The cities will empty.

I'm not frightened.
I'm wary.(as are my friends with children)
I'm keeping my eye on the news.

I hope nothing comes for us.

I don't think the sky is falling.

BUT......there is a chance...a REAL chance it may.

We need to protect those we love,do we not?

(this seems so insane and unreal)

One night when I was trying to find a picture to match the name of my journal...
Grover of course IS the monster at the end of the book.

I just pealed through page after page of ho-hum grover pics on google-image,
until that one popped up.

There was no question it had to be mine...
but I could not really tell you where I found it.
I'm sorry.

Grab it and ask people on your page!
LJ knows all.
