September 9th, 2005 (10:18 pm)
current song: Deceptacon, Le Tigre

Nearly there...

Matthew cheuffered my little butt around this afternoon,
I introduced him to the wonder that is BIG LOTS!
(cups and plates and two groovy leaf-shaped platters!)

He will never be the same.

Then we hit CM for the goodies...
Got out under 40 bucks!!!

A THEME concretized, finally.
The table is taking shape.

He fiddled with Cassandra while I got to the baking
and prep--It's nice to know a qualified APPLE tech who will
service your machine after checking his e-mail.
He surfed and then updated my Blinky Box
before he had to go
to work....

Organic bananablueberry muffins are baked!
Famous Ginger's-Snaps dough is chilling in the fridge.

A handle of Monopolowa is chilling in the freezer.

A double batch of Ginger-Lemonade is steeping in the fridge...
Oh, bloodlossgirl--that stuff is AWESOME!
I grated the ginger coarsely and put in more than recommended,
and used local Goodflow honey to sweeten it!!!
I have extra lemons to slice rounds over it, tomorrow.

Cucumbers are seeded and sliced and packed tight and moist.
Surimi is prepped and sealed tight.
Tofu, ditto.

Field greens washed and spun and loosely bagged.
Sunflower sprouts, ditto.

Blended the sriracha and cream cheese and pipe-bagged it.

Wrappers for the spring rolls SECURED!

Sauce for the chilled soba noodles prepped and steeping
(garlic, red chili, honey, tamari soy, dark sesame oil)
Will cook the noodles tomorrow.
Black and White sesame seeds and scallion for garnish.

Little clear plastic cocktail cups
discovered at TARGET for noodles!

Couldn't find any pickled daikon....damnit.
Still uncertain about the sushi.
Sushi rice, wasabi powder, nori, rice wine vinegar and such on hand...
Will make Daniel Tiger help me figure this one out,
we are both ZEN veterans.
May be just hand rolls this time...we'll see.

Will get the little cookies baked tonight, if all goes as planned.
I usually don't make them until October--tiny snaps packed with ginger
and whole wheat flour...they are my Halloween prezzie for friends.
They have to sit in the fridge for at least 3 hours before baking, I like to let
them go over night, but there is too much to do tomorrow.

Nibbly bowls full of wasabi peas and candied ginger....

This is Fun.

Please come to my Party!

oh everything sounds lovely!

and yes, the ginger lemonade is divine. i didn't tell you, but i also used more ginger than it recommends, and i also let a little nub of ginger steep in it overnight :)

i like your modifications of the soba noodle sauce it sounds great! mwah! i'll cal lyou this afternoon after the drinkening begins!

i'm overtired, but our gig last night was great. maybe i need to be nervous like a mofo every time so that i can be amazed when things go well and we get mad complimentz.

Happy birthday!
