Ricardo Gonzalo Pedro Mantalban y Merino...

January 15th, 2009 (03:15 am)

November 25th 1920-January 14th 2009

Would that I could sink into a seat of fine Corinthian leather just now...

Your voice is struck into the aural lexicon of my childhood.
Exotic mystery
and Grand adventure.

Smiles everyone....Smiles.

You start to wonder...how many pieces of your foundation can pass before you...tilt. The answer is: none: foundations are well-laid and with intention and purpose.

God bless you, Mr Montalban. You helped me understand what "fantasy" means. And in my world, a word-giver is a word-God.

I had a Chrysler Cordoba in college that my brother and I shared. It didn't have the Corinthian leather, but damn it was a smooth-driving tank of a car. We should have had a Montalban shrine, but we and our friends often paid tribute with a Montalban impression.

89 years: very impressive. Who's next?
