For My Folks, and those in the Loop...

September 20th, 2008 (02:29 am)

Daniel Tiger's surgery was a success!
He is doing fine but the Doc decided to keep him
for 23 hours of observation (23?) and he had to stay overnight this evening.

I left work as quickly as I could this afternoon and hunted him down in the labyrinth of
SETON MEDICAL... actually I am getting FAR too able to navigate such places. *sigh*

They were holding his clothes and glasses hostage, but I was able to rescue them, so
he didn't have to watch blurry SIMPSONS! I stayed until he was getting dozy, after 11PM
and then left for the rest of my adventure.

Picked up four brand new fluffy pillows to add to his two at the new apartment,
the whole new IKEA bed set up with full accompaniment of linens--and he's a boy
so he certainly didn't have enough pillows...
got one of those cool wicker and white breakfast in bed trays,
a bouquet of those surreal daisies (that matched his linen colour
scheme of burgundies, much to me squee!) And good apple juice.

We had gone soup shopping the day before the surgery,
so we had a good stock of
liquids for him...but somehow we forgot apple juice,
and I find it quite helpful in all kinds of recovery.

I made up his bed with all his keen new linens and 6 big pillows
and put his breakfast in bed tray in the middle of the bed
arranged his flowers in a cool vase--I must say I was quite proud of it all.
Very better homes and gartens, Ja?
And he has no idea, so when he gets to his place it will be a nice surprise.
(I broke in with my key!)

And now I am off to bed, got to open at 9 in the morning, and then check on my Tiger
who will have been deposited home by another dear Friend (*Waves to other most
wonderful Friend*) by the time I get off.

Talk about the mouse and lion...er I guess a Tiger in this case?
I finally get to take care of the very guy who saved my life, who took care of me!

*yawns* Must sleep now, was a long day with an early morning ahead........

</lurk>23 hours is observation; 24 hours makes you an inpatient. It's all a hospital billing issue and affects how much they charge you. 23-hour observation is cheaper. <lurk>

Oh cool, thank you, I fancied it mystical...
but that makes much more sense.

Like why they always pull away from the gate,
when you are going somewhere on a plane?
Even if you sit on the tarmac forever???

Pilots don't start getting paid,
until they pull away!
