2004...Past Blast!

March 9th, 2007 (01:56 pm)

Re-reading my adventures of my Favourite SXSW Year with a Badge?
(the one in the middle, the first one I didn't know what I was doing...
and the third one, I was depressed and EMPLOYED. *HAH!*)

This was TOO much fun. Juuuuuuuuust Right. *licks her spoon*

http://ginger931.livejournal.com/2004/03/14/

I unlocked the whole series of posts, they had been under several different filters.
I don't think anyone can be hurt by what was said then, now. *laughing*

And hell, I'm going back to read some more, before I have to go to work tonight.

^_^

SXSW 2004

Yes, it was a very good year. As was 1994 (when the wristband was $35). See ya again in 2014?

Nice pic, BTW ;-)

And I'll say it again, volunteer one of these years!!

Darling, if I ever get out of the SERVICE INDUSTRY...I shall.

*smirks*

And wow, it was...it was ten years from OUR sxsw.

*laughs and smiles*

I still have the clippings from the chronicle--highlighted with our plans....

Perfect textbook indie-girl-go-to-meetin' outfit! Looking great!

I now count years. This is my eleventh year without going to a SXSW. I miss going to see bands during a blank moment in my schedule, based on their name alone. I miss seeing my faves as well. The times I went I had the benefit of a badge (I was booking a college club at the time) and recall seeing the locals get all salty because I could pass them in line. At that time, there were few if any people there like me. College students in charge of booking and programming? They went to cheesy conferences to find acts to blow their money on for their four programs a year. I had a partner and we were booking acts every week, every weekend.

Those were the days. That was another life. Same me, different life. Great life!

More 'YearBook' than Textbook.......

I'm sad you won't be coming after the party.

'96--if I count back? You were HERE in 1996?

wow.

The circles, I never know when to hula hoop, and when to bite the doughnut.
They are always satisfying.

ROUND, is always satisfying.

Scooby

I was there in 1996, 1995, and 1994. Whenever it was that Jay and Silent Bob Strike back I was there as well, having driven down with circus friends to see the premier and then make fools of ourselves at a meet and greet afterward. I was also there in 2003 with the circus.

Circles are delicious, especially when they're doughnuts or cookies.

It would be cool to still come down, but alas, not this time. The future, maybe! Hopefully . . . .

Antid0te's

antid0te made it for me from a ragged shot
on a cheap little web-cam I had....back in the day.

She's good with pictures.
Even better, when they are raw--and need work.

Sweet jumping Jesus on a bagel! I forgot about the Master Shake picture? Were I still coming down, we could have gone to the ATHF movie, too!

Pulp Comment
35 cents!

Oh yeah, and nice gams!

"She had a smile that could turn Plymouth Rock to putty and gams to give that glamorous glowing grill a run for its money. Austin was lucky to have her and she, it. Theirs was a relationship that was built on trust as much as it was hardship. They'd each knocked each other down a couple of times, skinned some kneees, bloodied the nose, but they always helped each other back up and their relationship was the better for it.

Ginger. Austin. Two of a kind. Never were two more perfect for each other."
