current song: Can you Read my Mind, The Killers

I just checked my mail and I had an odd letter from some place called "Arbitron"
A Leader in TV and Radio Ratings
from South Jersey NJ.

I went online and filled out the questionnaire.
They had enclosed a stamped envelope, I have nicked the stamp.
^_^
I am told I will receive 10 dollars in cash within 6 weeks (really, I didn't think anything
took 6-8 weeks anymore? Remember ordering things from the back of comic books
and cereal boxes in the 70s? *laughing*) I don't care about that.

I'm the girl who always takes the survey when the phone rings.
I want to believe somehow because I was randomly chosen
to be that slice of percentages...
What I say might matter. Somewhere. Somehow.

*laughing harder*

Well, NPR and THE BIG BANG THEORY can thank me if they want to.

^_^

I almost threw it away.

I feel a bit bad, somehow.
My radio is NPR
and I watch TV on my computer.
I don't even own one (TV).

But that is what this is for.
You and I are common folk, and they asked us
what we thought.

*grins*

Wow, that is kinda fantastic.
The drop in the bucket that counts for all the water.
They got you and me!

Nice.

Non-commercial radio station ratings don't count...well, they are counted, but they aren't reported. I have no idea why that is...probably because Arbitron ratings are used to set ad rates.

Congrats! I've always wanted to see what an Arbitron diary looked like...never been able to see one because radio employees aren't allowed to see them. Some sort of tampering somesuch they're worried about.

Don't Panic

Good to hear from you Dear-heart,
don't be a stranger.

I know I just fucked this thing...
Ginger listens to NPR in her car and watches TV on her lap top!

I was a dud.

I'm sure NPR stations get some use out of it too, plus corporate radio stations need to know that people aren't listening!
