Oh Skids...I love you.

June 21st, 2008 (02:10 pm)

If you have ever wondered
why my LJ is called "The Monster at the End of this Book"...
well here's why: CLICK

I used to have Mom read that little "Golden Book" over and over and over and over......
As I have grown older (if not UP) it has taken on more Mythic undertones.

Before I could write, I carried "a diary"--just a book I scribbled in and pretended
I knew words...

By the time I was 8 I was squirreling away my thoughts in a little blue book with a lock
and two keys...I have never stopped. There are stacks and stacks and stacks of them.

I am often still afraid, of the monster at the end of my book....
But in my heart, thanks to my Mother--I believe in myself.
It is no wonder Grover and Yoda...are the same guy.

*grins*

Thanks for the link skidspoppe.

Oh man! I was just talking to somebody about that book a couple of days ago. It is one of my all-time favorite books and Grover is one of my all-time favorite Muppets. :)

Means a lot, let me tell you.

Don't really feel like a hero right now (okay, maybe Hancock)

I knew why your journal was named that. . .

Of course, I would, wouldn't I?

I actually still own my copy from childhood, and therefore never wondered. :D

Mine

I had a ton of those "Golden Books."

This was mine only because I thought Harold was so cool that he could draw and make up his own world--all w/ a crayon!
