I love the weather this time of year in Austin...

April 10th, 2008 (02:47 am)

It was a hot overcast day today, but now the wind is dry and HUGE
wiping out the pollen and shaking the trees....a storm is blowin' in.

The whole apartment building is shaking with wind.
My door is open.

TEXAS

it really is another country.

Stan and I had dinner tonight, his truck is on the blink...
Otis needs a new starter.

So I popped into my car, and drove the two miles to his place.
It was late, so we did Kerby on South Lamar.

my CAR.
wow.

Burger I had was fine, I don't usually order red meat--so this was an odd choice
for me.

Waitress was dreadful, bless her heart.

Burger was good.
Kudo's to the BOH

FOH sucked.

I really have been in this business too long.

I suppose that is part of the price of being a 'Lifer at a part time job?

I really really shouldn't go out to eat, unless it is white linen.
I'm a foodie and a waitress of 20 years......
I want flash.

I do this, you must love me.
LOVE ME!

i accept nothing less from myself.

*hands on hips*

Don't even know the little weasel's name.
So I can't call her out.
She didn't introduce herself or make eye-contact.

Stan said she had on too much make-up,
I just noticed she didn't ask if I wanted a whole wheat bun or not, and....
she didn't ask the temp on my burger.

I'm going to walk 12 dollars shy from this place, for a burger.
ASK me some damn questions.

*wiggles her toes in her fuzzy leopard print slippers*

Yeah, i really have been in this business too long.

It's just food.

But FOOD is something you can make for yourself, better.
And SERVICE is something you pay for...

It's what I do.

Mmmmmmmmm...
STORM blowin' in.

relax

it's either a job you do, or a job you're just doing "for now"

sounds like you got a "for now", and i'm sorry an behalf of all the people who don't live in your little world but dick around with it anyways.

Bubble of Serenity

You've a gift for sounding both snarky...
AND positive.

^_^

I think that is one of the things I like most about you.

it is a useful skill when your primary customer is a lonely, maladjusted malcontent who spends much of their personal time arguing over the latest events in comic books with all the venom most reserve for a jihad.

also, sorry for using the word 'jihad' and undoubtedly having the NSA flag your journal as a potential security risk. maybe they'll come in for a dinner some night? government people tip well, right? it's not like thay can't afford it.

I'd very nearly fly out of my Universe
to watch Iron Man with you.
Or Speed.

Out of multiple visits in 7+ years I have had legitimately good service at Kerbey Lane exactly once.
