If mixed right, meaning "dirty", it should be grayish in color and go down readily. It was popularized in Florida where they race greyhounds.

no idea. but grapefrit and vodka sounds like something you'd drink when you'd lost all your money at the dog races and the 'family' would be by to cash out with your organs.

I make a vodka drink with Texas Star pink grapefruit juice and a splash of cranberry to fight the bitterness and a lime. Yum!

No clue, but it is quite tasty!

But...

A Salty Dog is a cocktail containing vodka or gin and grapefruit juice, served in a glass with a salted rim. The salt is the only difference between a Salty Dog and a Greyhound.
